Elected by the members convened in the General Assembly of Sacem (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music), the Board of Directors is Sacem’s executive body.
The Board of Directors takes all decisions essential to the operations of SACEM: it appoints the society’s CEO who enforces the policies defined by the directors. The Board meets nearly 50 times a year.
The Board of Directors is made up of six authors, six composers and six publishers each elected for a three-year term, and two writer-directors with two-year terms, one permanent member and the other a deputy member. Every year, one-third of the Board of Directors is renewed. Board members are elected at the General Assembly by their peers: SACEM members who are authors, composers and publishers.
