our members and authors' rights
SACEM is structured on the model of a cooperative: a collective management organisation (CMO). Royalties from copyright/authors’ rights are authors and composers’ only source of revenue.
To guarantee authors’ intellectual property rights over their works, SACEM collects and distributes royalties.
Sacem Lab contributes to Sacem's innovation process by offering support
and expertise to our most forward-looking team members.
Partnerships are also formed throughout the year to test solutions designed to generate
value for creators in the Music Tech space.
Sacem signs multi-territory licensing agreements with all the digital
players to collect author's rights for its members.
Its strategy relies on a perfect knowledge of the environment, on its partnerships and
on the strength of its repertoire.
Developed in partnership with IBM, URights is a unique platform for managing online rights: from the processing of exploitation data from digital service providers to the calculation of the distribution for its members and international publishers.
SACEM’s territorial presence is its most valuable asset, which guarantees fair, efficient royalty collections and close relations with clients and members in each and every region.
SACEM is a non-profit non-trading entity owned and managed by its members: authors, composers and publishers of music.
Run by its members since 1851, SACEM defends, protects and supports all authors, composers and publishers of music every day.
